Meet the Instructors

ACA has a number of talented instructors teaching the classes. Here's a chance to find out more about them...

Barb Crowley

Barb was the clown leader of St. Joseph’s Youth Group Clowns for 17 years. She has studied at the University of Wisconsin’s LaCrosse Campus Clown Camp (an intense week of learning clown skills) and many weekend workshops led by nationally known professional clowns. She was a member of Clowns of America International and World Clowning Association for many years. She holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.


Elissa Davis

Music teacher, Elissa Davis, is currently a substitute working within the WCSD. She recently graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Music Education with french horn as her concentrated instrument. She plays french horn in the Warren County Civic Orchestra and recently played in the Warren Player's Titanic pit orchestra and will be helping with vocals for the upcoming Jack-in-the-Box production of Footloose. She is also working on improving her photography, another of her artistic loves.

Mark Davis

Mark was a teacher in Warren County for 32 years. While teaching fifth grade Mark learned to develop historical characters to make history come alive in the classroom.  He learned his stage skills through his acting and directing in Warren Players. Mark has been telling stories for over 20 years, but learned to love listening to stories during his years as a youth in Boys Scouts around campfires. Mark’s most recent storytelling has taken place at the Rouse Suites, Library Theatre, and Warren Co. Historical Society trolley rides.

Joseph Glarner

Joseph started learning music at the young age of 4 with piano lessons. In the years following he began taking lessons for violin, guitar, voice and percussion. After graduating high school he was off to California where he attended the world famous "Musicians Institute" in West Hollywood California majoring in Jazz/Commercial Music Performance for guitar. After a year in L.A. Joseph was awarded a scholarship, and moved to NYC in the fall of 2001 to attend Five Towns University majoring in Jazz/Classical Guitar Performance and double minoring in Voice, and Violin while teaching close to 30 students a week at world renowned percussionist Gil Brienes Music Conservatory. After Five Towns Joseph moved to Fredonia, NY and opened up a music retail store and recording studio in his home town here in Warren, Pa. Joseph Glarner played every Friday night for four years at "The Liberty Street Cafe" form 2002-2006. In the spring of 2007 Joseph was invited to join Western New Yorks infamous Jazz/Fusion group "On The Sly" and toured with them for two years all over the country until the band disbanded in the fall of 2008 and Joseph went back to his roots in classic jazz. Joseph has 6 albums out under his name, and has recorded on twenty others to date. His music has been played on radio, tv, and movie mediums.


Jordan Spencer

Jordan is a member of the Actors Equity Association, which is the stage performance union. He earned his BA in Musical Theatre and a Minor in dance from Point Park University's, Conservatory of Performing Arts Department. Since his years at P.P.U. he has lived and worked in Pittsburgh, Philidelphia, New York City, and all over Europe as a professional performer. He received his union membership at the Kansas City Starlight Amphitheatre in a production of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, traveled the world performing in the 50th Anniversary World Tour of WEST SIDE STORY, and worked as a principal dancer in the featured film ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, directed by Julie Taymor. He is happy to be able to share his knowledge that he as acquired over the last 8 yrs. of working as a professional thespian, and is excited to continue to learn and to grow in his own understanding of his craft.

 

 


Ed Tomassini
